Bill Moseley 2015 Bowness Photography Prize finalist

It's just endless this month, the artists of Hill End are in full spring with finalists in the Portia Geach - Rosemary Valadon, Sculpture in the Garden - Genevieve Carroll and Hui Selwood and Bill Moseley selected for the prestigious Bowness Photography Prize at Monash Art Gallery Melbourne.

The Coalminers Daughter Wet Plate Collodion 8 x 10 Tin Type 2015

Photographer/master printmaker of Hill End Press, Bill Moseley was one of the 47 selected for his work The Coalminers Daughter, out of 2400 entries this prize. Excited... yes he was, this led to a trip down to Monash Art Gallery to shuffle and mix with other photographers on the opening night. Chatting to the eloquent photographer Bill Henson who was one of the judges for this years prize, was a high light of the night.

The MGA Foundation was established in 2005 with the aim of supporting Monash Gallery of Art (MGA) and its nationally significant collection of Australian photography. The Foundation's program of events and fundraising activities is managed by Trustees.

The William and Winifred Bowness Photography Prize was initiated by the MGA Foundation in 2006. Established to promote excellence in photography, the Bowness Photography Prize and exhibition provide an opportunity to view and to engage with some of the best of contemporary Australian photography.
